Key West Police Department Officer Of The Month

Officer Mike Pettee

This month, we commend Officer Mike Pettee, a member of the Key West Police Department’s motor unit. His duties include controlling traffic, escorting dignitaries, enforcing traffic laws and providing demonstrations for school kids. He is constantly working on advancing his role training in traffic accident reconstruction, a special skill and a vital aspect of investigating traffic crashes. Officer Pettee came to the Key West Police Department in 2012 as a sponsored cadet in the Law Enforcement Academy. Since day one, he has gone above and beyond in the community and the department always there to lend a helping hand. He serves in dispatch when they’re short handed and volunteers in community events. Most recently, he helped raise money for the Key West Police Athletic League, selflessly volunteering in the Brawl on Duval. Officer Pettee was willing to take one for the team to raise funds for our community kids. Officer Mike Pettee, the back the blue officer of the month.
